Sales Experience

A photo of my first ever personal sales table, at D-Con, maybe 2013?

A photo of a sales table from Caithness Christmas Craft Fair 2016

A photo of a sales table from 2017

I am unable to find photos of other sales experiences, though I have had at least 3 other tables.

Spatial Studies pieces

"Because of you I find it hard to trust not only me but everyone around me," lyrics by Kelly Clarkson, Because Of You.
Wrote 'WHY?' on the back of my lovely model Anna Gardiner with eyeliner, projected the above lyrics onto her, photographed it, and then projected the photos onto a wall I'd written 'WHY?' on, and photographed that.

Artists Statement

My artists statement:

"I am a student at Orkney College, currently in my second year of studying BA Fine Art. I work with mixed media, using techniques such as monoprinting and continuous line drawing, to create spontaneous works suggesting a chaotic outpouring of emotion.
Art has always been a means of expression for myself, so I put as much energy, emotion and passion into my works as possible.
As I have suffered mental illness my whole life, it has become important to me to bring it into my artwork. I am my artwork and my artwork is me. My art cannot lie, as it can only be an expression of myself and what I have been through. I aim to take the darkness I have suffered and turn it into something beautiful, something meaningful, that can hopefully bring about awareness and help others who have experienced what I have.
I hope that my work can resonate within others, to make them feel something, and hopefully make them realise that, although there is darkness in the world, it doesn’t have to be hidden away and it doesn’t have to be hideous.
We can make something beautiful out of the ugly and we can brighten up even the darkest situations."

A photo of my statement being used in my FRAGILE exhibition:

The poster I made for my exhibition at our local Blide Trust! I realised afterwards that I probably should have put the address of Blide Trust down as some people didn't know where it was, but for one of my first posters I'm rather pleased with myself!

Christmas Open Exhibition

One of the Christmas Open Exhibitions that I have submitted work to this year (2017) is having an opening night! Details are included in this image. I will try to take photos of the event if I am allowed to, so that those of you who can't make it can get an idea of how it goes!
